♣ Pot-limit math
Pot Bet Calculator
Announce “pot” with confidence. Enter the three numbers the dealer would use and get the maximum legal bet or raise, with every step of the arithmetic shown.
Maximum legal raise
400
That’s your call of 100 plus a raise of 300 on top.
How it’s computed
- Start with what’s out there: 100 pot + 100 in bets.
- Pretend you call first: add your 100 call, so the pot would hold 300.
- The pot-limit rule: you may bet that whole amount on top — a raise of 300.
- Total chips you push forward: 100 + 300 = 400. If it’s all called, the pot becomes 600.
The rule in one line
The most you can bet or raise in a pot-limit game is the size of the pot after your call. Handy shortcut when facing a single bet: 3 × the bet + everything else in the pot. The full theory, with worked examples, is in Pot-Limit Betting Mechanics.
